13.31.2 Other Changes

• The garbage collector is faster.
• Support for the Linux profiler “OProfile” has been removed. The “Perf” profiler provides similar functionality.
• Some redundant uppercase synonyms have been removed in the debugger interface. For instance, A is no longer recognized as a synonym for the a (abort) debugger command.

  In the same vein, uppercase Y/N are no longer recognized as yes/no by 'SU_messages':query_abbreviation/3.

• library(json) error reporting has been aligned with standard error handling.
• MiniZinc:
  • - Upgraded to MiniZinc 2.5.5.
  • - Added native support for the MiniZinc global member and annotations impact and dom_w_deg.
  • - The spfz command line flag -f now means that any search annotation is ignored.
• CLPFD:
  • - Performance fixes.
• The database library library(bdb) has been deprecated and library(lmdb) has been introduced as a replacement.

  Oracle no longer appears to actively develop and support the underlying Berkeley DB software. In particular, they no longer provide installers for old or current releases of Berkeley DB. This makes it hard to install the dependencies that library(bdb) relies on.

• The Tcl/Tk library, library(tcltk), now loads Tcl/Tk at run time. This means that it no longer depends on a particular version of Tcl/Tk but should run with Tcl/Tk 8.5, e.g., as built-in on macOS and older Linux versions, as well as with Tcl/Tk 8.6, e.g., on newer Linux distributions and with the ActiveState installers for Windows.
• Support for 32-bit Linux has been removed.

  Support for 32-bit Windows has been deprecated and will be completely removed in some future release. It is still available for supported customers.

• The memory-allocation hook SP_set_memalloc_hooks(), that was deprecated in release 4.5.0, has been removed. The related spld option --memhook has been removed.
